Has served on the Management Committee of the Youth Club for over 20 years, and also serves on Woodstock Town Council. She continues to highlight the needs of the young people of this, and surrounding communities, The current lack of central funding has jeopardised this work but we remain dedicated to re-build a crumbling venue and hence to honour our obligation to future society.
Back in the 1980′s was leader of the youth club in Wootton. “I thought I’d finished with youth work but when my own children started going to club in Woodstock in the late 1990s I got involved again, first as a club night volunteer and then on the committee. I’ve spent time as both Chairman and Vice-Chair but have recently taken on the role of Club Secretary. For the last few years I’ve been Chairman of the new building committee and have been involved with many of the fundraising activities and events.
Good memories include helping out on YC summer holidays in Nottinghamshire, Shropshire and Wales. I’ve been canoeing, climbing, mountain boarding, pony trekking and even down a coal mine all with the excuse that I was supervising the kids.”
Colin is a former Town Mayor of Woodstock. During his time as Mayor he saw at first hand the importance of voluntary support to the town’s clubs and societies. Colin believes that good facilities for young people make for a more socially inclusive town and for more responsible and fulfilled young adults. To this end, he is a governor at The Marlborough School and is currently the Youth Club’s treasurer.

Has been on the committee of the Woodstock Youth Club for about 4 years. Her son Andrew attended the youth club as a member and now goes back as a volunteer sometimes now he is 18. “I joined the re-build committee as I wanted to help raise funds for a better youth club. With the help of my husband Paul, we have put on a series of Country and Western dances, raising funds for the new build. I have also organised bag packing at Sainsburys to help raise
funds, involving the help of the members of the youth club. I will continue to support this project as long as I am able.”
